Adelia Van Helsing III knows full well about her family heritage, after all, she has the bird to prove it. A vampiric raven that’s been handed down through the generations, she’s named him Poe, and he’s her early warning system, since where she’s from weaker vampires always bow to a stronger one and there aren’t many vampires weaker than vampire animals.

She often says that just because she’s one of the Van Helsings doesn't mean I'm one of those Van Helsings, though it would be hypocritical of her to say that she doesn't have her own half-blind obsessions. She just don't let them rule her life.

In fact, she’s one of the few Van Helsings who isn't more-than-just-obsessed. She has a day job. The sort of day job where she deals with people chock full of Entitlement Issues.

She does, however, fall into the family line of work where necessary, there aren’t as many of Dracula’s hideous progeny around as there used to be, and she isn’t as fastidious a note-taker as her predecessors, she much prefers action to research, and figures that they’ve already done most of the research for her, all she has to do is follow where it leads.

She knows that there are other vampires besides Dracula’s fledges and grand-fledges, and for the most part she has no quarrel with them, she’s only concerned with the Dracul line.

She also has a number of tattoos, every single one of them a protection sigil of some kind, aside from the family motto 'with sword we stand astride the pit' in Latin around her left wrist.

(Adelia comes from a (very) brief mention in the scrapbook: The Vampire Hunter's Handbook by Raphael Van Helsing. All the book mentions is that she has a vampire raven. Everything else I made up myself. Her PB is Christina Hendricks who's face makes me no money by its use, and by whose use I mean no slander, libel, or disrespect.
